So, the rain ended at Monday night [Tuesday morning] at 00:30. Streets started to dry, puddles receded. Now it turns out that the Charles River has yet to crest!
Vernal brook? - Well, normally that winter runoff flows slowly and gently. Gradually it runs off in to Fuller Brook and then eventually to the Charles. Instead, we have a mountain stream, bubbling, gushing, and filling up to the banks. Thank heavens for high berms.
By today, it was a lesser flow but still hundreds of gallons a minute going by.
